Great Things

2 min read
Hi! :D How are you today?

I personally am super, super happy. For one, I'm now a month into my new manufacturing job (being finally rid of my 7 year long run in fast food) and I love it a lot! Repetitive tasks and cleaning in slow spells for 8 hours? Count me in! :giggle:
Work has largely improved my overall happiness, not to mention that within a week I'll be moving into my own place! Just me and the cats in sweet, uninterrupted solitude. :aww:
And to top it all off, I've also reached over 150 watchers on this website. :blush: Thank you so much for being interested in my content everyone! I hope the pace of comics will speed up when I'm moved in to the new place (if that's on your minds).

So yeah, happy little update.
Have a great day! Akari Akazaki (Oh yay) [V2]

Story Time

So as you can see, I kinda sank into a long spell of inactivity, and if you care to hear, I'll recap a bit of what I was doing.

One of the reasons I fell out of the internet was job searching. And by job searching, I mean trying a few times, giving up, and not touching the internet for a while. You see, I'm fairly thin-skinned, and when I get rejection or dead silence, it really affects me. Granted I'm trying to thicken that skin since that's what happens in the creative world. It's a work in progress. ^^;

And a reason that I came back to look at DA again is because I've got a possibility of a job offer. And feeling accomplished and deserving of reward, I have returned!

So in the months I was gone, I found a few things to grab my creative attention. Let's start out with a timeline.

Sometime in the end of 2017 I met a charming customer and I always enjoyed chatting with him over the few seconds of interaction we could have while going through the fast-paced take-order/give-order cycle that is fast food. One day I was off around the time he got his food and we chatted. Turns out he's creative, funny, and perfect friend material. Over some time after we exchanged numbers and started hanging out and I in turn met his friends.

Here's where the video games come to play. One of my new friends, we'll call him D, showed me this mobile game he was playing: Fire Emblem Heroes. One character stood out to me, not only in cuteness and white hair, but when his lines of dialogue emerged I had I sudden realization: this was fictional husband. Some of you might recognize this character as
Henry
It took a while, but D eventually lent me Fire Emblem Awakening and I loved it. (Too bad I didn't know that Chrom had to be married by chapter 11 or else I would have had my husband!!)
Anywho, that started me into Fates and Shadows of Valentia and I found my brother's old copy of Shadow Dragon. I have now joined the ranks of Fire Emblem trash. (welcome me into your clique, Gablade!)

At this time my customer friend, we'll call him C, was starting to play Dangan Ronpa (and he has some of the best reactions, I tell ya. Nekomaru was his favorite and the rage that came from him when chapter 4 hit was amusing to watch :XD: ) and he mentioned that there was this weird wanna-be Dangan Ronpa game called Zero Escape. And it just so happens when I looked for them, they were super cheap at my Game Stop. So I played through Zero Escape Virtue's Last Reward and Zero Time Dilemma and I really loved the characters and the plot(twists) (Junpei is best protag)
And in the discovery of Fire Emblem and Zero Escape, I'm finding less and less need to go to Pokémon for future nuzlockes... if only because there's character death built into more mature games out there. Maybe I'm just getting old. I dunno. :shrug:

So, in my absence I have learned some things, maybe gained a boyfriend in C ;P , and have high hopes of getting out of the same job that's been draining 7 years of my life. I have a irl friend group for the first time in know knows how long and creativity has slowly been returning to me. I can't promise art anytime soon, but I assure you the passion has not disappeared.

Hope you enjoyed that rant about my life and video game exploration... or not. ;P

Maybe back?

Hello all. ^^;

So I went into deep hibernation for a few months. Not because the weather was bad or anything, but because I was happy to sink into reality, a new friend group, and put creativity to the wayside. But hey, things happen in people's lives. :shrug: I'm sorry if any of you felt like I was bailing or ignoring you guys. ^^; Lots of factors just piled up in my mind and only now the itch to write is bringing back to opening this laptop again.

So then, not sure if I can promise much art right now... I'm kinda in a rewriting mood. And before concerns come up, I think I want to still tell the Bitter Pill story, mostly because I like the story telling potential in the run. But comics have always bogged me down in the past, so keeping the pages short and simplistic helps, but only for so long.

I could also go on a little chat about how I feel about Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon since I disappeared during it's release date: It's undergone the Pokémon Platinum treatment. There's some hidden surprises and switches in characters and Pokémon, but everything is exactly the same. Which by itself is alright, but I'm struggling so hard to even care about finishing a first playthrough. -_- Maybe when I nuzlocke it, there will be some fun to be had (like in a Dangan Ronpa-themed Nuzlocke I completed recently in Platinum).
Oh let me tell you! I had a great time in that Danganronpa-locke! I had Rantaro as my Turtwig starter and Gonta a Kriketot and many many more! So much despair, so many hours, and only 4 survivors (One of which was Korekiyo the Bronzong- oh god what have I allowed to escape into that world? :O )

So yeah. I'll try to be on the compy more. I've just got a minor 14,000 notices to go through... Hah... hahaha... ^^;

(Looks like I eventually fell to the hiatus that has plagued all of my other good friends XD)

Hiya, everyone. I haven't touched my computer for about a week now, not like that's important all that much. :shrug: You've got your lives and I've got mine.

But if you're curious where I've been, the title might give you a partial hint.
So a week ago I fell on my tailbone and felt pretty uncomfortable. You never realize how important a tailbone is for balance until you hurt it.
So to drown my pain, I was playing a lot of Animal Crossing (I finally got all the museum fossils completed today and two missing pieces of other sets were found, so I'm super happy!) and watching Future Diary (I'm about halfway through! I love Aru so much :XD:).

And then Sunday rolled around and I figured, "Hey, I should finally get Dangan Ronpa V3." So I did, and there went all my free time. ;P I have to say, my instincts on who I'd like in the DR V3 cast were spot-on. Korekiyo is wonderfully insane and I was eager to get his undies</s> his friendship maxed out first! And then Kokichi, who seems to also be a huge fan favorite was a blast to hang out with as well.
I have to say... as much as I love Komaeda from the second game, I think Kokichi plays that role a tad better. Not only does Kokichi voice a lot of things the player is undoubtedly thinking, but when he calls out Miu, I just have to side with the little liar. Though I'm only starting chapter 5, so we'll see how much I love him. ;P I love all the "degenerate males" so much, there's just not enough time to collect all the underwear</s> max out all the friendship. But I'm hooked on the story, so I'll wait for postgame.
(Am I a terrible person for being almost relieved when the victims of chapters 3 and 4 were revealed? I dunno...)

So yeah, I've got some creative things coming up, I think. I've got some Bitter Pill pages sketched, so I'll open them up after my Despair Fever has calmed a bit. Maybe some fanart of V3's best boys, who knows.

And I've been without a novel to write for a while and the waiting has given me an idea to start brainstorming on what Guiles could do as a main character again! He's an interesting character of mine, not only for meta reasons, but how fundamentally different he is from my usual favorite main characters. I might have to write out a dialogue between him and myself (if mainly for my own benefit to get ideas flowing. If you'd be interested in it and potential controversial/religious topics I'll converse with myself about, then I'd be curious to know.)

So yeah, I hope I'm not gone for an entire week with no word, but here's an update on Kira's life. If you wanted to be nosey. ;P
Or maybe you don't care. :shrugs:
Either way, here's a journal and I'll try to catch up on all the messages. :wave:

So long, bear well!

Happy October

Last year I tried to do a little character challenge with costumes. Would people be interested in it this year as well? :)
Or maybe a little spooky comic strip with the Bitter Pill characters?

Good luck to all of you Inktober people, I don't have the drive to join you. ^^;
